 Fabric Art'/><title type='text'>Fabric Book - Children &amp; Bikes, Trikes and Wagons</title><summary type='text'>I finished this little fabric book a few days ago, but just got around to taking pictures of it.  I used unbleached muslin for the book structure.  The book is embellished with various scraps of fabric, lace, trims, buttons, pins and cute pictures of children with their bikes, trikes and wagons.  The photos are printed onto prepared white cotton fabric sheets.  The overall size is 5" x 10.5".

Nashville, TN</title><summary type='text'>We stopped at the Ryman Auditorium this evening, but were too late for the tour.  I snapped a few pictures of the beautiful building that used to be the home of the Grand Ole Opry.  It was originally built as a church in 1891.  We'll do the tour in a future visit.

This is what it looks like with its cushion.  I'll use this chair next summer under the large Maple tree in the front yard.  It is light weight and will be easy to move to the yard.

I have a lot of old snapshots in photo albums from the 1920s.  As near as I can tell, the albums depict the Carroll, Iowa area.

I haven't ventured into my blog at all since John and I left Kentucky.  In fact, I'm just now deciding to share this with you.

My dad went into the hospital the day we returned to California from Kentucky.  Our family was by his side for the nearly two weeks he was there.  He passed away on November 19th.

This group of young people look like they had great fun together.  The photos are from albums I have had for quite a while.  They are printed on white cotton and then collaged with bits and pieces of vintage fabrics, trims and buttons.  The finished size is 4" x 6" for each quiltie, and a piece of trim added at the top for easy hanging.

Isn't this a funny little ant hill?  This ant hill is between the bricks on the front walkway.  We have had quite a bit of rain the past few days, and the air is very damp.  The little grains of dirt the ants pile onto the hill are stacking taller and taller - about 3" to 4" for this one.

I found a little time this afternoon to do a little sewing.  I made this little romantic quiltie depicting a woman.  Her image is printed on white cotton and then collaged with vintage fabric, a piece from a hanky, lace, rick rack and a pearl button.

I created this wall hanging using the fabric and lace that I bought in Kansas - I also added a vintage metal and wood button to the center top. The photo that is printed on white cotton is of my husband's grandparents. They are the couple on the left. It was take either when they were courting or soon after they were married in 1912. The Mission Antique Mall is huge, and we spent quite a long time shopping.
