Fabric Cone Swap

I made this fabric cone for a swap with my Cloth Paper Studio group. It is the first one I've made. Our inspiration for this swap are the fabric cones made by Ruth Rae.

I machine quilted the rose fabric with a layer of felt inside. The outside of the cone is covered with glittery organza. Antique lace covers the outside and inside opening. I embellished the cone with vintage buttons, costume jewelry, a piece of sheet music and letter beads spelling out 'May'. Sequence, beads and shells are trapped in antique lace that are sewn above and below the sheet music.

It went out in the mail today, and I can't wait to see the cone I receive.

Lovely! I can't wait to see it "in person"! You've really inspired me to get started on mine.

Thanks for the compliments. I only chose to do one cone for the swap as I didn't know what I was getting into - this is the first one for me. Can't wait to see the one I get in the swap.
