I have been working with some images I purchased from Luna Girl. There are many interesting images on the CD, this being one of them. What is in the box the young woman is peering into?
The quiltie is made from vintage fabric, lace, a celluloid button and a piece of fabric paper I created from a sheet music remnant. I've listed this on my Etsy Shop, but I'm tempted to put it in my own bathroom.

This quiltie is quite lovely! The image is intriguing and does make you wonder, doesn't it?
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Since we're moving soon (aobut six weeks, we think), I haven't hung the piece I won, but I have it propped up on my bakers rack so I can see it every day!
I'm still reading the book that I have to review. It's a fun book. I haven't tried any of the projects yet -- probably will do that this week-end. That will be the real test of how well it's written :)
If you prefer the mystery, then don't read further. If you want it solved, here goes.
The painting is by John William Waterhouse (Pre-Raphaelite) and is called "Psyche Opening the Golden Box". http://www.artrenewal.org/asp/database/image.asp?id=818
Psyche was a beatuiful maiden who angered the goddess of love and beauty, Aphrodite. One of her tasks to attempt to appease Aphrodite was to go to the underworld and bring back some of Persephone's beauty in a small box. Psyche was warned not to look inside, but curiosity got he better of her and she did. You can click here for the full story of Psyche and Cupid: http://www.bartleby.com/181/111.html
I like the quiltlet.
