I recently went to one of my favorite places to go in Southern California - the Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens.
I spent most of the day walking the beautiful gardens, and because of the Spring rains I knew the Desert Garden would be especially beautiful. It was a pretty day - quite warm, but not too hot. And, there were flocks of wild parrots throughout the gardens - lots of chatter. I couldn't get any good pictures of the parrots.
The shade gardens were at least 10 degrees cooler than the desert garden.
The bonsais were spectacular in person - made me want to give it a try too.

Just wanted to say thanks for dropping by my blog! Hopefully we will get to do a class together some time.
Pleased I called in, great photos! :)
Thanks for stopping by my blog. I had the pleasure of visiting the Huntington Library and Gardens with my "Calif" sister a few years ago. It is so beautiful.
Interesting that you spend your summers in Ky. We spend 6 weeks each spring and fall. (My DH is a hunter and this is the perfect time) We spend our summers in AZ. It's hot but we have D-back season tickets and granddaughters who are out of school.
Love blog and will be back to read previous posts.
