Picker Sisters I -10 Home Store - Gone

My sisters and I enjoyed the Picker Sisters series, and really like some of the creative furniture and accessories they made from the rusted junk.  My sister, who lives in LA, went to take a look at the I - 10 Home store on Melrose, but it is closed with a for lease sign on the windows.  Too bad!  We were looking forward to seeing the creations from the show.

This is totally sad news for me...the girls were just plain fun to experience and I love the way they work outside the box. Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

Doesn't surprise me. I imagine they had more "tourists" in the shop than real customers. They probably had a decent run initially due to the publicity of the TV series, but most of their stuff was limited to a small audience of buyers and way over priced. I wish them both well in their new endeavors.

That is very sad. I wonder what happened. Maybe ...Bad location, out priced the market, were on the road more than they were in the store, just didn't manage their business well, overly ambitious. Or all of the above. It's too bad, but maybe they opened up elsewhere.

This is for Cherrl-Lou:

I got your email inquiring about current locations for any Picker Sisters stores. It seems that the Melrose store was just a "pop up" store that was opened to go along with the show. Since they did not continue for another season, I doubt that there are any stores now.

They just let the things they created go with the property? I would have taken the pieces with me

What a disappointment that the show only ran 1 season. The three of them made a terrific team! I love scavenging things from the dump and breathing new life into them. Over the years I have rescued several cool vintage and antique items from death at the landfill and it's always rewarding. Whatever these creative souls are up to now, I hope they are living their dreams.

Just found the show. Loved it. Wonder what they are up to now. Not only were they creative, funny and smart, they were also beautiful.
